ANTHONY GRIMANI
AV industry guru and world-renowned acoustical engineer, Anthony Grimani, has engineered over 500 home theaters
and professional recording studios around the world. His 30+ years of experience in the audio industry include executive positions at Dolby and Lucasfilm THX, and have earned him the “50 Most Vital Influencers” award from CustomRetailer magazine, and being named by CEPro Magazine as one of the “Top 20 Most Influential People of the Past 20 Years.”
At Dolby, Anthony was intricately involved in the development of surround sound for consumer applications. At THX, developed the Home THX program, the THX PM3 program, and invented the revolutionary Surround EX 6.1 channel
audio format pioneered in Star Wars, the Phantom Menace. Anthony holds six patents in the area of audio and acoustics, and is a frequent contributor to the AV industry’s most read and respected trade magazines.
MANNY LACARRUBBA
Manny has worked as a recording engineer in the music industry, and as a
consulting technology engineer to the semi-conductor industry
specializing in noise and vibration control. For 10 years, Manny was staff and chief engineer at famed Sausalito recording studio, The Plant. His music engineering credits include tracks and albums for Santana, Michael Bolton, Celine Dion, Kenny G, Mariah Carey, and many more. He also designed some of The Plant’s seminal recording rooms. He holds several patents related to loudspeaker engineering, all of which have been integrated into commercial products manufactured by Bang & Olufsen of Denmark.
TONY ECKERT
Tony Eckert's 20+ year career has included electronics assembly, sound reinforcement and sound recording for feature films. Tony started out at Skywalker Sound as a maintenance engineer supporting sound recording, editing and mixing for motion pictures. He eventually landed the position of Foley Mixer, recording sound effects for more than 65 feature films including Saving Private Ryan, Star Wars: Episodes I and II, and many Pixar films. Tony has won six Golden Reel Awards for Best Foley Mixer.
GARY SUMMERS
Gary Summers has worked as a motion picture re-recording mixer for the past 33 years. His career in sound began in 1979 when he was employed by Lucasfilm Ltd. as a sound recordist to work on Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. His abilities as a re-recording mixer were first employed in 1983 on Star Wars: The Return of the Jedi. Gary has received ten Academy Award® nominations for Best Achievement in Sound, winning four Oscars® for Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Jurassic Park, Titanic, and Saving Private Ryan. Gary has also been nominated for the British Academy Award six times, capturing the award for Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Saving Private Ryan. The Cinema Audio Society, the Motion Picture Sound Editors Association, and the TEC Awards have all recognized him for his work. Gary has also received two Emmy Award® nominations, with awards for his work on The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles TV series. Gary has worked in the large screen motion picture formats; i.e. IMAX with 21 credits to his name. His talents have also been used in eight theme park attractions for The Walt Disney Company including Star Tours, Honey I Shrunk the Audience, and Muppetvision 3D.
